So iapos;m sitting in the university center at my college, and iapos;m seriously in tears, because i went lurking the hey arnold livejournal community, and someone posted a list of their favorite episodes--in short, i started remembering all of them, and i started laughing, and now iapos;m like, ready to cry because i miss it so much. Who gets that emotionally attached to an effing cartoon? seriously, i am so ridiculous.

"if i hit the lever, i think i can stop it." "i canapos;t believe we called our go-cart the mauve avenger." "letapos;s make ken-tuck-eh proud" "i suppose that you just arenapos;t that oh-so special someone iapos;m looking for." "never eat raspberries." "why do you always do that, why do you always have to look on the bright side?" "i say we paint ourselves with tiger stripes and then go free all the animals in the zoo" "poor twisted little freak." "the journey is the destination, man." "i dunno, i saw it in a hippie movie." "donapos;t worry my poor, blind friend. Youapos;re in good hands." "ITapos;S WHEEZINapos; ED AND--AND--AND SOME OTHER GUY" "suzie, make me a sandwich" "you keep de money." "kitty, kitty, kitty, i want to pet de kitty." "kokashka, you bum" "iapos;m hungry" "with my golden magic sling shot." "lemon puddinapos;?" "MONKEYMAAAAN" "oh, molasses, itapos;s you." "isnapos;t it just fantastic?" "on moooooonliiiight baaaaaaaaaaay" "donapos;t hit me, iapos;ll hit me, iapos;m crazy" "HEY ARNOLD, TWENTY FOUR HOURS UNTIL YOU DIIIIIIIE"

i have to stop giggling, people are gonna think iapos;m crazy.

i ruined my makeup, shit...

Oh LiveJournal that I never post in anymore, I felt the urge this evening to share some pictures:

Guitar Iapos;m building that I really want to finish up, but school and life are busy, and itapos;s taken a number for the time being.

"Don Henley," the neon tetra, proving that although Image Stabilization is great, it is not a substitute for a large aperture lens when taking pictures of fast moving objects. This was the least blurred I got him :-(.

Hot Wheels model of the electric Tesla Roadster, on top of the Counting Crows album Iapos;m listening to right now.

And my 1997 white 3 series next to my Momapos;s 2005 white 3 series.

Ok, back to homework.

When I got home from work today, the floor had been removed and the furniture was back in place. Theyapos;re really good workers and stuff like this happens, Iapos;d still recommend them to anyone. The new floor should be in on Friday. The big downside is that it smells really bad. Iapos;m not sure what exactly caused it, maybe the antifreeze from the heating system plus the floor underlayment...I just hope it goes away real soon

This past weekend I decided to institute one vegetarian dinner per week in our household -- I shall call them Meatless Mondays. I did not, however, inform my husband or child, because when I suggested it a while back they both gave me the hairy eyeball and requested bacon cheeseburgers for dinner. So Iapos;m just going to cook it, and if they whine, they can make themselves a goddamned bacon cheeseburger. Tonight is manicotti florentine or cheese and bean enchiladas, Iapos;m not sure which. What are your favorite meatless entrees?

Iapos;m really tired of hearing about Bank bailout. Iapos;m sure someone could explain it to me and stop me from sounding really stupid but in the mean time Iapos;m thinking, if I default to the bank they fucking take my stuff back. They donapos;t care what your reasons are, they just take back the car or house or what ever you gave the bank to hold for you on top of the huge amounts of interest they also charge for lending you the money. Hereapos;s what I think should happen, take the banks stuff. It seems fair. Sell it off in an auction. And who gets to repossess banks? Iapos;m trying to see some repo man sneaking in the dead of night jacking a bank.

Ok, Iapos;m gonna go do house stuff and stop reading the news.

From The man who was afraid of ATMs;

"Who wants to live next door to a Singaporean anyway?" (...) "Might as well go back to Singapore"

According to a wildlife documentary Chang saw on cable, chameleons hated company. If another chameleon came near, they would fight and one would be forcibly ejected from the otherapos;s territory. Annette reminded him of a chameleon. Once she adapted to fit into her surroundings, she preferred not to be near her own kind.

So, I did it I actually managed to make it to decompression. And I didnapos;t go by myself I decided at 10am that I might as well throw up a post on CLto see if I could find anyone up for palling around in the city for it, and the email I received from a gal who said she was too tired and too broke to go turned into the two of us hanging out with an amazing (and growing) posse of her friends dancing, and drinking, and making merriment until the sun went down and the cold came out. It was fantastic

It was just what I needed, and I somehow managed to survive it all on a ridiculously limited budget. I ate twice today for $1, consumed fabulous beer and baileys, and a liapos;l vodka red bull and some harsh red wine thrown in for good measure.

L (aforementioned tired and broke cutie)worked with the Flaming Lotus Girls last year, and one of my goals when I came down here was to hook up with them and to get involved in the welding/fire arts community. We had great chats about politics and little dancing babes and surviving the harsh financial reality that is the bay area. She reminds me a lot of Lindsay, which is a marvelous thing, since Lindsay is one of my most favorite people on this wee planet of ours.

And her friend D works on the periphery of the social work field, and wants to exchange numbers and chat about possible positions at LarkinStreet Youth Services, which is my dream youth organization in the bay area.

All in all, we were a band of seven (usually) merry makers sharing stories and booze, smiling and enjoying the night. And my feet managed to survive until about 10pm, which was a mighty feat in and of itself, considering how badly I destroyed them on Friday.

So yay for getting out of my shell, throwing myself out there and meeting some of the marvelous people housed on both sides of the waters here. I see myself here. This feels more and more like home everyday, and I canapos;t wait to see what adventures are in store for me
